Just a random sampling of future 40k projects...

Fri Jul 3, 2009, 9:09 PM
I already have a 2000 point Tau army up and ready to battle anything that comes their way, but in the downtime between now and the time soon to come when my Saum'ka Uash'o will be pitted against the forces of the Blood Angels, I'm just rattling off ideas for projects in the future. These are not in any particular order.

Number 1: Build a Greater Knarloc from scratch, without going the easy way (Forgeworld).
Yes, you read that correctly. My plan is to take a plastic T-Rex model, carve it up, green stuff the living daylights out of it, and paint it until it resembles a decent Knarloc. Then I'll add some Kroot gunners and a massive crossbow, because...you know...there is no such thing as overkill. Not even when you've got a dinosaur-sized cannibalistic alien monster under your command.

Number 2: Make a team of gue'vesa auxiliaries.
I have a set of Cadian shock troops and enough Fire Warrior bits to outfit a small regiment. Imperial loyalists, watch out. There are traitors in your midst.

Number 3: Make a Vespid strain.
I have everything I need. Current color scheme: Black chitin armor with red-orange spines and shiny blue eyes.

Number 4: Make a sniper drone team from scratch.
My current philosophy is: Why buy metal when you can make it from plastic? I have gun drones, sprue bits, green stuff, and skill. I'm not going to spend $30 on a kit that I can duplicate for free. Also take into account my custom Pathfinders.
The Games Workshop cost of 5 Pathfinders, two more with rail rifles, and a Shas'ui? $60
My cost? $35 for a Fire Warrior pack of 12 soldiers. I already have the green stuff, so that's really all I need. Plus, I can customize each team member however I want.

Number 5: Build a large ruined city battle table with interchangeable buildings.

Number 6: Build a Barracuda fighter from scratch.
This is going to be very, very difficult, will require a lot of research and even more work, and may not turn out too well. Bring it on!
